US: Fed speak in the limelight today - TDS

Analysts at TDS suggest that a trio of Fed Speakers are likely to overshadow a couple lower-tier data releases in the US session today.

Key Quotes

“Chicago Fed President Evans is up first with a 9:00 ET speech on the policy outlook while Dallas Fed President Robert Kaplan will speak in a moderated Q&A later in the morning. St. Louis President Bullard is also set to give his economic outlook during an event at 13:30 ET. None of the aforementioned officials are 2018 voters and both Bullard and Evans hold a strong dovish bias.”

“December import prices and revisions to November wholesale inventories are the only data scheduled for release. The market consensus is for import prices to rise 0.4% m/m while wholesale inventories are expected to remain unchanged from the preliminary 0.7% increase.”
