EC spokesman: Brexit Sec. Barclay to travel to Brussels on Tuesday for talks with EU's Barnier

According to a spokesman for the European Commission, British Brexit Secretary Barclay and Attorney General Cox will be travelling to Brussels on Tuesday for talks with the European Union's Chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier. Reporting on the matter, several news outlets claimed that the spokesman didn't disagree with the assessment that the sides haven't been able to make progress in the last couple of week and said that there won't be a press conference following the meeting.

Reacting to these remarks, the pound sterling weakened against both the dollar and the shared currency in the last minutes.
